To support the UK in the fight against the Covid-19, the donation of the first shipment of medical supplies from the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK will be delivered to the UK this week via the British government’s plane. 20 invasive ventilators have already arrived in London on 5 April, 2020. This donation is the first shipment of supplies the British government has received from Chinese businesses since the outbreak of the pandemic in March, and it demonstrates the true friendship and cooperation between China and the UK.

The CCCUK plans to hold an “Online Donation of Medical Supplies to the UK” on 8 April, 2020, witnessing the donation of the first shipment of the Covid-19 supplies to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, the official charity establishment of the City of London. The details of the event are as follows:

Caroline Wilson is soon to take up her post as British Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. Caroline was appointed Europe Director at the FCDO, a role she held from 2016 to 2019. She ever assumed Her Majesty’s Consul General to Hong Kong and Macao from 2012 to 2016, and joined the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in 1995 after qualifying as a Barrister-at-law. Caroline is fluent in both Russian and Chinese as she completed Mandarin language training before working in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and taking up her role of First Secretary at the British Embassy in Beijing in 1997.
In China, Caroline mainly engaged in post-handover affairs and human rights work in Hong Kong in 1997. She was posted to First Secretary of the UK Representation to the European Union in Brussels in 2001, where she advised the UK on negotiating strategies at the EU Summit with her LLM background in European Union Law. She served as Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary from 2004 to 2006, handling foreign policy matters, and was then seconded to the Cabinet Office European Secretariat as Deputy Director, coordinating UK policies on EU affairs.
Before taking up her post in Hong Kong, Caroline served at the British Embassy in Moscow as Minister Counsellor and President of UK Trade & Investment, directing business, economy, energy, science and climate affairs.

吴若兰即将赴北京担任英国驻华大使。她于2016年10月至2019年7月在伦敦外交和联邦事务部担任欧洲总监。她曾在2012年10月获委任为英国驻香港及澳门总领事。她于1995年加入英国外交及联邦事务部前，是一位合资格执业大律师。吴氏能操俄文及中文，于亚美尼亚、阿塞拜彊及乔治亚工作前，曾接受全职普通话培训，及后于1997年出任英国驻北京大使馆一等秘书。
吴氏驻华期间主要职务包括处理1997年香港政权移交后事务及人权工作。她于2001年成为英国驻欧盟布鲁塞尔办事处一等秘书，凭藉其拥有欧洲共同体法法律硕士的背景，为英国于欧洲峰会上提供谈判策略的建议。于2004年至2006年，吴氏出任英国外交部外交大臣的私人秘书，处理广泛的外交政策事务。此后，她调职至政府内阁，出任欧洲秘书处副处长，协调与欧盟事务相关的英国政策。
吴氏出任香港的职务前乃英国驻莫斯科大使馆公使及参赞兼英国贸易投资推广署总裁，领导商业、经济、能源、科学及气候事务。
