On 18 May 2018, the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK)’s 4th “PwC/CBRE Cup” Table Tennis Tournament 2018 was held at Bounce Table Tennis Club in London.

Mr. JIN Xu, Minister Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, and Mr. SUN Yu, Chairman of the CCCUK (CEO, Bank of China (UK) Limited.) delivered speeches and presented awards respectively. The tournament was co-sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers and CBRE. The winning athletes were presented with their awards by Ms JIANG Suwei, Partner of PwC’s China Business Group, and Mr. ZHANG Shaoqian, Managing Director of CBRE EMEA and Managing Director of CBRE’s China Business in London.

ZHANG Peng from China Mobile International (UK) Limited won the men’s singles, QIN Ye from Bank of China (UK) Limited won the women’s singles, QU Kang and JI Xiaoman from Bank of China (UK) Limited won the mixed doubles; ZHANG Xiangchun from PetroChina International (London) Co., Ltd won the women’s singles in the VIP category, LIU Hongqian from Bank of China (UK) Limited won the men’s singles in the VIP category, HUANG Hongyong and LIU Lili from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in the UK won the mixed doubles in the VIP category.

The CCCUK’s 4th Table Tennis Tournament had several features.

Firstly, the participating players were with high enthusiasm. More than 30 organisations with nearly 100 members signed up for the tournament, with more than 80 participants on the first day, more than 50 on the second day, and more than 120 in the final and VIP category, with some players in enterprises’ leadership taking part in the tournament.

Secondly, the tournament was of a high standard. The field was filled with an atmosphere of fierce, friendly and mutual-help; through the games, the CCCUK’s members enhanced their friendship and understanding with each other.

Thirdly, the tournament was widely participated. There were both Chinese enterprises in the UK and local organisations in the UK, making the tournament both a sports competition and an international exchange.

During the Tournament

The aim of the tournament is “encouraging the building of corporate culture, improving communication among Chinese enterprises in the UK and creating a good working atmosphere among them”; it provided a sports platform for members of the CCCUK to show themselves and communicate with each other, and demonstrated the positive, hard-working, progressive spirit and strong cohesion of Chinese enterprises in the UK.
