On 13 August, the delegation of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council(SASAC) visited the CCCUK. Both sides exchanged their views on the cultural integration and cross-cultural management  for central enterprises under the Belt and Road Initiative. Representatives of 24 Chinese organisations including the Bureau of Publicity (CPC Committee Publicity Department) SASAC, SINOPEC, CNOOC visited the CCCUK.

SUN Yu, Chairman of the CCCUK and CEO of Bank of China (UK) Limited. welcomed the delegation to visit  the UK. Mr Sun said, with the development of the Golden Era of the China-UK relation, the  CCCUK set up multilateral channels of communication and spoke on behalf of Chinese enterprises, having made a positive contribution to promoting the China-UK economic and trade cooperation and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises. Mr SUN emphasized that Chinese enterprises represent China’s image, Chinese enterprises shall pay attention to regulation-compliant operation, enhance international talent recruiting, upgrade enterprise management model, engage into local communities, make sure our message is heard, and build good enterprise brand images in the process of “Going Out”.

DONG Zhaohui, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Publicity (CPC Committee Publicity Department) SASAC, and Head of the Delegation pointed out that the visit aimed at gaining insight into the mechanism of the cultural integration and cross-cultural management under the Belt and Road Initiative. Through the event, the enterprises learned more about the status of the UK’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, the development history of Chinese enterprises in the UK, and the experience and challenges in corporate culture construction. He added that the CCCUK has made great achievements in development and offered diversified services and he hoped that both sides would carry out in-depth communication and cooperation in future.

CAO Li, Vice Chairman of the CCCUK and General Manager of China Telecom (Europe) Co. Ltd., said that enterprises need to find their own business characteristics during development to gain competitive advantages in a market. He analysed the strengths and weaknesses of Chinese enterprises in telecommunications in the UK, and pointed out the enterprises should pay attention to inclusiveness and equality in cultural construction and compliance with local legislations and regulations during operation.

The participants conducted in-depth discussions on corporate culture building, cultural integration, overseas operation, talent recruiting, and other topics and believed that the seminar enhanced communication and mutual trust. Both sides hoped that there would be further opportunities for cooperation in future.
